Many people think yoga is all about some form of exercises involving weird stretches and heavy breathing. Okay, I admit some of the stretches are a bit out of the norm and breathing is a huge part of it, so to some degree I guess those people may be right. But there is so much more.
Yoga can relieve a large variety of ailments. Yoga also helps you to withdraw from the world around you and focus your mind. This is done by breathing through the asanas (poses). Once you have concentration, you are prepared for meditation. Meditation in my opinion is essential for productive living and spiritual growth.
So all in all, while doing yoga you are focusing your mind, nurturing your soul and getting a great work out at the same time! Who can ask for anything more in a practice? To all the people who look at yoga and turn their nose up, I know somewhere deep down they really want to try a Downward Facing Dog, and haven’t we all been in Tadasana at one point or another? I’m personally in favor of Vrikshasana. Talk about knowing if you need a V8 or not, lol.
Hmmmm maybe this has gone a little too far. Not!
I love Yoga! Oh and feel free to click on the picture to watch our yoga video.
